Terms
Terms of service
The ground rules for using the site, listing a business, and buying a plan or an ad.
Last updated November 5, 2026
Alaska Towns is run by Honor Coding LLC dba Alaska Towns (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you list a business or buy a plan or an ad, the sections for businesses apply to you too.
Using the site
The site is a guide. Business details, hours, seasons, prices and photos come from the businesses themselves or from public information, such as a business’s own website, and we check them before they appear, but things change. Please confirm anything important, especially hours, road conditions and bookings, with the business before you travel. We’re not responsible for the services any business provides.
Links to other websites are there for your convenience. We don’t control those sites.
Listing a business
- Listings are for real, local businesses. You must own the business or be allowed to act for it.
- What you send us must be accurate, and you must have the right to use every photo, logo and piece of text you upload. Don’t upload photos you didn’t take or don’t have permission to use.
- You keep ownership of your content. You give us permission to show it on the site, in search results and in our own promotion of the site, for as long as it is listed.
- New listings, claims and changes are reviewed before they go live. We may edit a listing for clarity or accuracy, or decline or remove one that breaks these terms.
- We may list a business from public information before its owner signs up. The owner can claim the listing to manage it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it, and we’ll do so promptly.
Paid plans
- Featured and Premium plans are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, at the prices shown on the plans page when you sign up, or a price we agree with you in writing. Introductory discounts apply only to the period stated.
- Featured spots are limited in each category in each town. When they’re full, you can join a waiting list, and we offer the next open spot in the order people joined.
- Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your listing returns to Free.
- Monthly plans can be paused for the off-season and restarted later.
- Plans paid by check run for one year and don’t renew automatically; we’ll send a reminder before they end.
- If we change prices, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we’ll tell you before it does.
- Your listing’s extras are kept if you downgrade, so they come back if you upgrade again.
Ads
- Ads are for local businesses only. We don’t run ads for cannabis, alcohol stores, political campaigns, gambling or adult content. Restaurants, lodges and roadhouses that serve alcohol are fine.
- You’re responsible for your ad’s content and the page it links to, and it must be accurate and lawful.
- Ads run for the dates you book and are paid in full up front. We may decline or take down an ad that breaks these rules; if we do, we refund what’s left of it.
Cancelling and refunds
How cancelling and refunds work for plans and ads, including the 14-day refund on yearly plans, is explained in our Refund and cancellation policy, which is part of these terms.
Things you can’t do
Don’t copy the site’s listings in bulk, try to break or overload the site, post anything false or harmful, or pretend to be a business you don’t represent. We may close accounts that do.
Our responsibility
We work to keep the site accurate and running, but it’s provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or lost-business losses, and our total liability to a business is limited to what it paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we’ll email account holders about big changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska. Questions? Email info@alaskatowns.com or use our contact form.
